From my sophomore to senior years of high school, I put great pride into my love for journalism and worked feverishly. For my efforts, I was awarded the position of Editor in Chief of the Walter Times student newspaper of One School of the Arts and Sciences.

During my tenure, I steadied with the help of the burgeoning program, bringing The Walter Times into the state spotlight and claiming five honorable mentions from the Florida Scholastic Press Association under various categories, from short film to literary magazine. I, along with my hard-working staffers, molded many programs from the ground up and introduced many forms of content that have since become staples of the newspaper, such as the ‘What’s Up?’ series of articles to engage students with the greater GOA (Greater Orlando Area) community.

During the final quarter of my High School sophomore year in 2022, I was struck with inspiration during the Florida Scholastic Press Association after hearing a lecture from an NPR producer, forever galvanizing in me my passion for journalism and its relationship with the community! My first action was to create the Lions Roar podcast for One School of the Arts and Sciences, with the mission to form a greater connection with the surrounding community through intimate and compelling story telling.
